Purpose: Gather and preserve material and historical data about AA, emphasizing the Central California Area, for use by interested people; display historical material at conventions, CCAA meetings, and other appropriate functions; and assist/receive reports from the archivist. | | |
Cooperation with Professional Community (CPC)
Purpose: Provide information about AA to those who have contact with alcoholics through their profession. Information is provided about what AA is, what AA does and does not do, and how AA can be located. Cooperation is also best established with other AA organizations and committees; potentially overlapping responsibilities are resolved in the simplest way possible. | | |
Finance
Purpose: Develop and present recommendations, based on analysis of AA finances, to assist CCAA in making financial decisions with an informed group conscience. | | |
Grapevine
Purpose: Inform groups and individuals as to the benefits of using the A.A. Grapevine magazine. The committee encourages groups and individuals to subscribe to our “Meeting in Print,” urges A.A. members to contribute articles for publication, and provides a structure for the group Grapevine Representatives (Gv. R’s). The Grapevine Committee works with other committees to encourage the use of the magazine as a Twelfth Step tool. | | |
La Viña
Purpose: Inform Spanish speaking groups and individuals as to the benefits of using La Vina magazine. The committee encourages groups and individuals to subscribe to our “Meeting in Print,” urges A.A. members to contribute articles for publication, and provides a structure for the group La Vina Representatives. The La Vina Committee works with other committees to encourage the use of the magazine as a Twelfth Step tool. | | |
Audio-Visual / Literature / Newsletter
Purpose: Provide and coordinate the presentation of AA audio-visual material to AA groups, other committees, and related AA activities as requested. Materials consist of audio tapes, videotapes, film, and static displays. In addition, AV will provide on request the means to present said materials as needed. | | |
Public Information (P.I.) / Accessibility / Website
Purpose: Inform the general public, through the use of media, the message of Alcoholics Anonymous. The committee is always mindful of personal anonymity, A.A.’s singleness of purpose, and the principle of attraction rather than promotion. | | |
Registration
Purpose: Maintain records of registered groups, G.S.R.’s, Area Committee members (including past delegates), liaisons, and all alternates, to provide this information to the G.S.O. Records Department, as well as attendance at Area assemblies. and to register the attendance of G.S.R.’s, Area Committee members, and liaisons at Area assemblies. | | |
Translation
Purpose: Translates all CCAA reports and documents and reviews all translated documents as to their accuracy and intended purpose. | | |
Treatment
Purpose: Provide information to treatment facilities staff and clients as to what AA is and is not. | | |
Technology
Purpose: Effectively and efficiently allow the Area to accomplish its primary purpose as a tool for the day-to-day functions of the Area, along with record keeping, financials, and communications to remote communities and also to those with disabilities or other hardships. | | |
Hispanic Women’s Workshop
Purpose: To motivate the opening of special groups for Hispanic women with alcoholism
problems with the goal of having a greater reach with that woman who does not know that she
has a problem and that there is a solution by living with other women. As an Area committee we
will have the opportunity to achieve greater reach through the strength of unity. | | |
